Project Royal Orchard Before and After

We have a new project to share with you today! The project is still ongoing as some artwork and mirrors still need to come in, but we can't help but share these fun progress before and afters with you guys. The clients wanted to go for a modern, Scandinavian style while still mixing in some beautiful, one-of-a kind traditional Chinese art pieces that they painted themselves!

Before

The living room area was in need of some new furniture and decor to create that modern, Scandinavian theme the clients were envisioning. That yellow wall paint also needed to go!

We kept some existing pieces such as this traditional grandfather clock in the dining room.

The kitchen also seriously needed an update! The space really didn't feel like it lived up to its full potential. We ended up redoing all the cabinets to maximize the storage space. Also, new flooring finishes and lighting were needed to modernize the space.

The family room in the back of the house opens up to a little covered sunroom. The clients had a specific vision for this space and we were so excited to carry out their vision...

The family room was a big problem for the clients as the back of the house didn't get much sunlight and the space felt dark and uninviting to the client's family. Our goal was to create a space that would feel very welcoming, fun and relaxing using fun colours and bringing in different materials and textures.

After

This beautiful artwork hung above the sofa was painted by the client years ago! We absolutely loved the colours and thought it deserved to be showcased in their home. All it needed was a new frame and it was good to go! The artwork was used as a jumping off point for all the other furniture pieces and decor pieces. We brought in lots of blues and greens and a pop of pink! We wanted to bring in lots of fun colours to brighten up the space - it made such a big difference from the before photos. (Fun fact: there is a KBD pillow on that sofa... can you guess which one it is?! Keep an eye on our shop as we are releasing them soon...)

This beautiful live edge end table is perfect for the space to bring in some of that grounding warm tone and casual Scandinavian feel.

This entry bench is styled with our KBD Blue Speckle pillow! We absolutely love this pillow and can't wait for it to come out in our shop! It went perfectly with this artwork that the client also painted.

The kitchen had a complete makeover and we are in love. The white shaker cabinets really brighten up the space and the clean lines offer a more modern, sleek feel. These unique grey ceramic hexagonal floor tiles are a casually on-trend way to modernize the space, but it isn't going to go out of style anytime soon. The countertop and backsplash has a subtle grey veining to add some nice visual texture, but not too much as to keep with the crisp, white space.

The copper pendants ended up looking amazing in the kitchen along with the warm wood accents throughout in the custom hood vent and counter stools. The wood brings back some warmth and is a nice contrast with the crisp, white cabinets.

Floor to ceiling cabinets on the opposite side of the kitchen allows the clients to maximize the space and store all their things. This eat in kitchen table has so much beautiful detail. The scalloped marble finish on the table top and the brass edge detailing goes so well with the sleek modern feel of the kitchen. Mixing brass, copper and nickel in this space adds depth and character.

The L-shaped banquette bench seating allows for a casual breakfast in the kitchen.

We were tasked with making the family room more bright and inviting and we think we got it! It is SUCH a huge difference from before. There are still some artwork pieces and mirrors coming in, which will make the space even more fun and inviting. The bright colours and casual Scandinavian style really works in this space.

The clients came across this beautiful live edge coffee table that works amazingly with the space and adds SO much interest!

Can you ever have enough pillows? They add so much warmth and colour to the space!

The fireplace got a modern makeover and we added this custom built-in bench with storage as well. The bench cushion is coming in...but all these pillows already show us how great it will look!

Thanks for joining in on our progress shots. Make sure to check back soon for final photos of how the space turns out.

Until next time!
